Thailand Teach Voyage
• Candidates are mostly placed in public schools are where students go for their day to day schooling.
• Public school teaching is Monday to Friday during the day from around 07:30 – 16:00
• Public schools tend to have larger class sizes and teachers have more responsibility in preparing and creating lesson plans and materials but teachers are able to reach a wider demographic of students.
• Public school key points include:
• Working hours are typically in mornings and afternoons, from Monday to Friday
• There are usually around 20-30 students per class at the public schools
• More lesson planning is required
• Around 4-5 teaching hours per day
• There is a strong possibility that you will be the only foreign teacher at your school
What to Expect
• Lifetime placement.
• Earn a monthly salary of $1000 per month.

• Transfer from Bangkok to Hua Hin to complete the TESOL course.

1 week of cultural orientation which includes:
• Thai cooking classes.
• Volunteering at rescue P.A.W.S
• Muay Thai lesson.
• Visit to local Buddhist temples.
• Beach BBQ.
Requirements
• Have a Bachelor’s Degree of 3 years+ in any field of study.
• Be a South African citizen.
• Have an excellent grasp of the English language.
• Have a clear and easy to understand English accent.
• Good physical and mental health, candidates with depression, HIV and epilepsy will not be considered.
• Be between the ages of 20 -60 (older candidates will be considered)
• Have a clean criminal record with no previous convictions.
• Willing to commit for a minimum of 4 months.
• Must have a certificate of minimum 120 hours in class OR online TEFL/TESOL/CELTA (you can obtain this through our partnering agency and is included in Option 1 & 2)
• Candidates who is TESOL certified upon enquiry will be accepted upon pre-approval IF the TESOL is internationally accredited.
• Candidates with a Teaching Degree do not need to have a TEFL/TESOL/CELTA qualification.
• South African citizens might be asked to complete the TOEIC exam while in Thailand (more info on this in the FAQ’s found in the Info Pack).
